This is a story A meeting of fates Where singing and love And struggle awaits See, there was a kingdom And there lived a queen And there were two villains And also a king The palace was mighty With giant cathedrals And gardens that loomed On things good and things evil The queen's life was hard The hand she was dealt Not knowing her father And seldom love felt She flourished with it Her gardens, her trees The beauty she wielded Could capture with ease She enraptured the king Had the prettiest voice He, too, wrote her songs They sang and rejoiced Over time the two quarreled And fought over pleasures And sought out new feelings To handle their pressures This welcomed our villains Invading the crown Empathy, Apathy Tear them both down Missing his joy And friends he'd abandoned The king missed connection The queen, her companion They wallowed and argued Life rarely was spoken There's so many times That one thing can be broken Time for a break A pause in the crown This emotional quest Was bringing them down This kingdom was failing The oceans were bare The planet has perished Yet pieces are there This story was ending Life lived on the brink They fell in the middle Love circled the sink Who would've thought Our mightiest king Could give up so soon On his decadent queen They lived separated Yet still loved each other Still sang their songs As separate lovers Still she is still waiting For one like her kind With villains A princess is harder to find
