Биография
Raised in South London with Ugandan roots, Mysie is an multidisciplinary artist, songwriter, musician, dancer and actor (JERK on BBC, 'I Used to be Famous' on Netflix). Her music stands out as a genre-bending artist whose songs tease audiences across pop, indie electronic and alternative R&B. From a young age, Mysie was exposed to a mosaic of music from: deep house, UK noughties indie-rock and indie-electronica. This breadth of influence would go on to inform the sound that Mysie creates today. Although a classically trained pianist, her career began as a dancer in a krump collective, where she was introduced to experimental hip-hop and the likes of J Dilla, Flying Lotus and Thundercat. Since 2019, Mysie has released 3 EPs to critical acclaim, received an Ivor Novello “Rising Star Award” with Apple Music, featured in The Fader, Notion, Wonderland, Clash Magazine, NME, Elle Magazine, Line of Best Fit and more, with support across BBC Radio 1, 1XTRA and 6 Music (including BBC Radio 1 Introducing Track of the Week), Apple Music One, La Radio Nova (France) whilst being tipped as one to watch by the likes of The Sunday Times, The Guardian, The Independent and Jamz Supanova (BBC1Xtra). In 2023, Mysie aligned herself as an independent artist, putting prominence on growing her audience across social media. Her debut release of the year CTRL was well received on TikTok and across DSPs, paving the way for Mysie’s upcoming mixtape “CONTROLLA'' which will be dropped this autumn.
