Glasswing is an American Progressive Rock band. Formed in 2016, the quintet has subsequently released two full length albums, Univariate (2017) and The Astral Tramp (2019), and one EP, Songs From The Qotile Zone (2022). The concept-driven rock band is made up by members Aidan Sloppy, Nick Vollbrecht (Zelle Zuzana, Dr Ted Nelson), Ryan Javens, Chris Fohner (Fovere), and Kyle Myers. Lyrically and musically, the band has followed a running concept on their first two albums, penned by lead vocalist Kyle Myers. Driven by their guitar-centered sound, the band commonly composes long-running epics, alongside shorter, punchier rock tracks, mellowed out by lush synthesizers and soundscapes. With the release of The Astral Tramp, the band focused in with a thematic prog rock concept album, telling the story of the main character, Pthalo, as he ventures through the sci-fi inspired landscape. Through his ventures, he learns the secrets held by 'The Drosophola'; a shadowy corporate big brother, along with the corruption and environmental decay that accompanies them. The album encompasses Pthalo's tale of inner turmoil, loss, and an epic battle to preserve his fading chance of survival.
