Heartlistener is a Brazilian Metalcore / Melodic Hardcore band that has its roots in the southern countryside, Ponta Grossa, a city in the state of Paraná. The band was born in 2016 from the need to create music that could express what they thought and felt. Heartlistener’s sound is characterised by its fast pace, aggressive yet melodic guitars, and aggressive vocals that convey a melancholic although hope and emotional message. Their music has a great source of inspiration from bands such as Counterparts, The Ghost Inside, Defeater, More Than Life, and many others among the Metalcore and Hardcore scene. In 2021 the band began a new cycle with the release of the singles "Counterfeit", "Wolf Among Us", "Dreamweaver", "False Prophets" and "All the Art of Living Lies in a Fine Mingling..." which are part of their latest album "Perspectives" (2022), released on January 21st. The album follows a melodic hardcore sonic aesthetic, flirting with metalcore. "Perspectives" touches on intrapersonal issues, such as impostor syndrome and grief, and interpersonal issues such as Brazil’s socio-political problems. The album consists of 10 songs, featuring Caio Weber (Cefa), on the track "Violeta", the band's first song in Portuguese.
