Having grown up with the metalcore, melo-hardcore and nu-metal of the 2000s and 2010s, newcomers CATE give their music a modern, up-to-date style, with elements of various subgenres. In their songs melodic choruses meet brutal riffing and smashing breakdowns. They write what feels right and is fun at the time. Caught between emotions and social criticism in times of change, CATE's lyrics reflect what moves them. In general, however, their music is about moving on, shaping the future and getting rid of pent-up frustration. In December 2019 Steven (rhythm guitar), Jan (vocals) and Leo (lead guitar) reconnected at a meeting of their old school band. It was clear: they are up for being on stage together again! In 2020 the band was completed with Albert on drums. Since their formation, CATE have spent most of their band history during the corona pandemic, but have been able to open for metalcore greats Unearth since their debut show in April 2022. The goal with CATE is: to live out fun with music while reaching out to people, carrying them along and watching them dance in the mosh pit. By now the four guys from Herborn have released their first EP "First Time Sickness" including three music videos and are working on new songs with great eagerness.
