Dustystaytrue takes pride in beating the odds. The 22-year-old artist hails from New Haven, Connecticut — a city where he grew up witnessing two different worlds: one full of affluence and opportunity, and another full of crime and generational curses. Throughout his childhood, he was more accustomed to the latter. Carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders from a young age, he turned to music as a form of therapy. Inspired by the likes of Lauryn Hill, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Kanye West, DMX, and Drake, he dedicated himself to his craft and learned to appreciate his adversities for shaping him into a resilient, one-of-a-kind talent destined for success. 
 In the grand scheme of things, Dustystaytrue is only getting started, but he’s already reached heights that many can only dream of. In just a year’s time, he’s amassed millions of listeners thanks to hits that boast his vocals and versatility, such as “Never Change,” “Outta Time,” “Talk Tough,” and “Solar System.” While these masterful cuts quickly became fan favorites, they also grabbed the attention of the industry at large. Dustystaytrue landed a track on EARMILK’s Best Songs of 2020 list, and he’s received additional praise from publications such as ELEVATOR while becoming a mainstay on many premier playlists. For the fall of 2021, Dustystaytrue was tapped to go on tour with rising star Toosii, alongside fellow up-and-comers such as Lakeyah
