Floating between alternative, progressive rock and post-hardcore An Early Cascade perfectly transport an energetic, catchy and emotional mix of modern rock music. Especially the most current song Echoes (2020) brings new facets to the sound of the band: it is dark and ponderous, more aggressive than the releases of the last years. An Early Cascade formed in 2004 in Stuttgart, Germany. After recording demos, EPs and a mini-album, on which they still roamed in experimental emo-core and post-hardcore realms, the first long player Versus (2011) gave the thrust for the sound that manifests and asserts itself on Kairos (2015) and Alteration (2017). Like the title of the album Alteration (2017), An Early Cascade stands for transformation and experimental musical changes. Thus the band cannot really be easily categorized. It is even almost impossible to pin them down to a single genre. The layering of styles that An Early Cascade displays resembles the sophistication of Thrice, the compositional daring the talent of scene greats like Karnivool or Dredg, the energetic sound reminiscent of Funeral For A Friend, Circa Survive or The Fall Of Troy and at times even the depth of Deftones or the elegance of Muse.
