THE POWELL BROTHERS is a Country music recording artist fronted by brothers Taylor Powell (lead vocals, guitar, bass) and Blake Powell (vocals, bass, guitar). Music releases include 12 singles, 4 EPs and 1 full length album. The group’s current single is "Be Somebody.” The single was released on March 31, 2023 and is now available on all streaming platforms. "Be Somebody" was inspired by a landmark in The Powell Brothers’ hometown of Houston, Texas. The landmark is a railroad bridge over I-10 and I-45 north of downtown Houston that a talented graffiti artist tagged with words “Be Someone." Over the years, hundreds of thousands of drivers have been greeted and inspired by the colorful graffiti art. With the iconic Houston landmark in mind, The Powell Brothers wrote “Be Somebody.” The group wanted to capture, and expand on, the graffiti artist’s message of making a difference in your daily life and spreading joy and love. The song expresses the human condition of wanting to succeed and do something great in this world. We all want to be somebody.
