MARCEL JACOB started his musical career together with YNGWIE MALMSTEEN and in a band called FORCE; (which later become EUROPE). With Force, he co-wrote "The King Will Return" and "Scream Of Anger" with JOEY TEMPEST, the later which the band perform live still today. Marcel recorded the album "MARCHING OUT" with Yngwie and remained for 2 world tours from 1984-86. In ’86 Marcel headed back to Sweden to find out that the guitarist JOHN NORUM just departed from Europe and was looking for members to complete his solo band. Marcel joined and started writing songs for Norum's first release "TOTAL CONTROL". After a successful album and tour, the idea was to start work on second album for NORUM but John begun to work with GLENN HUGHES instead. Marcel then met CHRISTER WEDIN, who worked for record label Electra, who listen to Marcels songs and a record deal was soon in place. A vocalist was needed to secure the direction of the songs and Marcel contacted JEFF SCOTT SOTO in the US who was with him in Yngwie's band years earlier. The album was recorded and completed and Marcel named his new band to TALISMAN and the very first single "I'll Be Waiting" rocketed through the charts. With tours and more albums recorded and released. Marcel Jacob passed away July 21, 2009. Way too early, he was a great musician, song writer and extra ordinary talented bass player. On December 20th, 2019 the tribute song "Never Die(A Song For Marcel )" was released by the remaining members of Talisman.
