René Cas is a Dutch guitarist, singer-songwriter, and producer. His work spans and combines rock, blues, and contemporary music. For over 30 years, Cas has carved out his own path in the music world. From a young age he knew he wanted to play the guitar. He Was inspired by classic rock and blues with a special fondness for The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler , Jimi Hendrix, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Cas started his first bluesband at the age of 15. He first started writing songs in 2002 when he joined Coolzero, a dutch pop-rock band. With Coolzero he released 2 albums and toured extensively. The band got airtime and was asked by the Golden Earring to support them on their 2006 and 2007 tours. When they disbanded in 2009, he focussed on writing songs for other artists and as a session player he has played on a large selection of records in many different fields of music. In 2023, Cas decided it was time to release his songs under his own name , and he released the single Bluesbirds, an instrumental homage to the guitarists who inspired him.
