Ad Astra (Latin in origin): phrase meaning "to the stars". The phrase has origins with Virgil, who wrote in his Aeneid: "sic itur ad astra" and "opta ardua pennis astra sequi". 
 Ad Astra is a fusion/alternative rock band from Indiana. The band was formed in the summer of '21, by lead vocalist/keyboardist/songwriter Reeder Vyain. Ad Astra's lead guitarist and producer is Nathan Allen. Joshua Zamora leads on drums, and Emma Hornbecker is the band's featured vocalist. Ad Astra's debut self-titled EP released in August of 2021. The band describes themselves as 'eclectic'; spanning a different genre in each of their songs. Listeners can hear blues, jazz, punk rock, hip-hop, and orchestral arrangement. 
 Reeder and Nathan are attending the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University for Audio Engineering and Sound Production. Emma and Josh will graduate from the band's hometown in the coming years.
