La Cumbia Chicharra, authentic and surprising band, is a musical laboratory with dancing purposes. The original cumbia dares to venture in complete freedom, and is impregnated with urban and trendy colors (funk, afro beat, hip hop, dub...). This French-Chilean collective based in Marseilles likes to set tropical rhythms on fire: the original cumbia is impregnated with new flavors, afro-beat, funk, psychedelic chicha, brassy hip hop and sulfurous dub to melt into a euphoric urban potion. With 8 multi-instrumentalists on stage and their wizard sound engineer, the concerts become a festive and sensual explosion. Cumbia Chicharra is part of the precursors of the cumbia explosion in Europe, and has kept throughout its journey the taste of risk and adventure, giving its music a unique, broad and subtle scope.
