Биография
Eugene, Oregon's Northwest Royale took their style of metal to places and stages few other regional bands did. Forming in 2000 when nu-metal was at the height of its popularity, the band instead wrote songs that were melodic yet crushingly heavy, and their energetic live show saw them open for Rob Zombie, Slayer, Disturbed, the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, and several DIY tours. Northwest Royale cultivated a large fan base, and in 2005 quit their day jobs to tour full-time. Two DIY full-length albums (2002’s Respect What Could Be a Problem and 2004’s The Nosebleed Section) were released before Rock Ridge issued Home Is Where the Hate Is, an album that received praise from local and national publications. In 2006, vocalist/guitarist Colton D. Williams left the band, and the remaining members (keyboardist/percussionist/vocalist Blake Owens, bassist Kenny Nestor, drummer Beef Wellington and guitarist Travis Zering) continued on, with Blake taking over lead vocals. An EP The Bleeding Edge came out in 2009, and the band toured twice more before reuniting with Colton in 2010 to play a hometown farewell show to a capacity crowd. In August 2014, The Nosebleed Section was digitally reissued to commemorate its tenth anniversary. The band celebrated the release with a one-off reunion show, playing a two-hour set. In October 2016, the rest of Northwest Royale's catalog followed suit. In January 2021, Northwest Royale announced they had begun working on new material.
