Norway is a never ending machine when it comes to producing quality metal music. In fact, it has one of the highest counts of metal bands per capita in the entire world. Steeped in legend, one can never be quite sure what metallic force will emerge next.. Azmaroth is that answer. Having formed in 2015, this band produces a solid sound just waiting to impact ears. Stylistically, they play a groove-oriented form of heavy metal that has as much in common with 90's era Metallica as it does Pantera and Lamb of God, the marching meets exotic strains of "Reprieve" that helps the quartet differentiate themselves from the norm. The difference maker is that Azmaroth add in near mythological twists and atmosphere to widen their approach. Vocalist Tobias Røkke has that growling/scream propensity that will keep Azmaroth entrenched in the underground, but musically the group know the right pacing and construction to maximize every possible headbanging, stage diving or wall of death moments. The result shows that all four members bring forth an important component, making this work. The band started out in 2015 and debuted on stage in november, and during the time of making their debut album "Death Crowned King" they played a good handful of shows and competitions around Norway. The groove metallers went to the finals in both GBOB (Global Battle of the Bands) and Emergenza. All in all, Azmaroth hails from oslo, Norway bringing a fresh sound to the world waiting to impact ears ‘n necks.
