Wreck Like Me was formed in the summer of 2019, when Megan Bouman decided to try her hand at songwriting. Megan teamed up with friends Zach Coblentz and Andrew Kaufman to form a team; with Megan on lead vocals and guitar, Zach on drums, and Andrew on keys and background vocals, they were ready to play their first show with Detroit based artist Rosemont. After their first show, they switched their focus to releasing music. Their first song, Be Near, released in October of 2019, was Megan’s first experience with recording and self producing. Later in July of 2020, Megan self produced their 3 song EP, Wreck Like Me. Their most recent release, and Megan’s personal favorite released song, Letter to My Mother, was released in December of 2020. Wreck Like Me started as a band, and in 2021, the group decided to disband and Megan has continued as a solo artist. In August of 2020, Megan wrote the first song of what would become her first full length album. Over the course of the next year, she would write the next 9 songs to be featured on this record, talking about the passage of time, healing, and leaving the past behind to focus on the future. This album, called Time Goes On, is out now. This record is a significant genre shift—with elements of folk, pop, and rock, Megan has taken inspiration from many artists, featured on her playlist perfect mountain drive.
