Биография

Monovine is a grunge/alternative rock band from Patras, Greece. They were formed in the spring of 2008 and since then they've played hundreds of live shows, sharing the stage with artists such as Iggy Pop and the Stooges, Alice in Chains, Fu Manchu, The Fuzztones, Brant Bjork, The Subways, Moby, The Prodigy, 1000mods, Naxatras, The Last Drive and many more . They're well known for their intense and loud performances. Their debut album “Cliche” (2011) was a homage to the early 90s grunge scene imbued with various proto-punk and noise elements defining the band’s signature sound: raw sweeping guitars, mercilessly beating drums and contrasting lyrics  that waver between search/idleness, creativity/self-destruction, denial/acceptance. The band has since relocated to Athens, becoming an integral part of the local underground scene, continuing to perform all over Greece. Their latest album “D.Y.E” (2018) remains true to its grunge heritage, with each of the album’s songs unravelling, piece by piece, a truly imploding soundscape. D.Y.E is a carefully orchestrated dance between the nihilistic self-reflection and the trippy daydreams of a “wasted generation”.
