Swomi is a pop project. Swomi are Matteo Bassi and Francesco Bortolini. Based in northern Italy, the project was born in 2016 in an enthralling impetus of boredom and unhinged experimentation. The result was the surprising Painless EP, a mix of lo-fi indie and rough pop sounds, released in 2017 and brought around in the following year. The single Gold Dreams came right after in 2018, bringing the band towards dreamier and mellower atmospheres. In spring 2022 Swomi are releasing three new singles that mix both the indie and the dream-pop worlds. S + A, Retreat and Huawei were recorded in the cold spring of 2021 at Big Three Studio, with Simone Apostoli producing and mixing the tracks, and with the participation of Chiara Amalia Bernardini (Kick) in the vocals of Retreat. The covers and the canvases were inspired by the tracks and wonderfully created by Martina Savoldelli @unanomalia.
