Grand Prize Winner John Lennon Songwriting Contest A native of São Paulo, Brazil, Carla has sung with Billy Idol, Sérgio Mendes, Mike Patton, Solomin Burke, REO Speedwagon, Caetano Veloso, Natalie Cole, Seu Jorge, and recorded with Paula Fernandes, Gino Vannelli, Enrique Bunburry, and appeared on 7th Heaven, The Tonight Show, Dante Night Show, The Grammy Awards, and Pee Wee’s Playhouse. Carla sang on feature films RIO ( Rio: Music From The Motion Picture )and Rio 2 Soundtrack, on countless commercial jingles, and on the pilot for the Amazon original Mozart in the Jungle, and the 2018 Netflix film, Like Father.   Carla’s 2016 album, +Blue, explores complexities of growing up between two countries and cultures: her birthplace, Brazil, and her adopted country, the U.S. In 2019, Carla partnered with Burlacticus Recording Company, and released ADRIANA, which became the vinyl B side to Ozomatli’s “Libertad.” Chosen by BURL Audio’s Rich Williams especially for Carla, for its exquisite groove in 5/4 meter, and intimate vocal style. While tracking Adriana at the iconic EastWest studios, Carla and her band recorded two more songs, written by Carla, and arranged in the spirit of Antonio Carlos Jobim. Carla completed the production of the two original songs, Sempre Odara, and Three Kings, which expect an October and November 2019 release dates.
