McKendree is an artist full of truth and compassion. Standing out from the crowd, she is not afraid to talk about topics that are often swept under the carpet, note ‘Child Soldier’. She is marked for her stage presence with “a voice that commands to be heard… performed to perfection” (Live Unsigned). This is an artist weaving a journey of her own, going wherever the music leads with an aim to leave people feeling freer, happier and inspiring us to embrace life. She was classically trained and grew up listening to the blues, gospel music and pop. Her teens were impacted by 90’s singer-songwriters’ Jeff Buckley and Tori Amos. South American music is beginning to shape her sound since collaborating with Argentina percussionist Martin Rizzola.
