Maurice & Charles is Roy Kerr (MyRiot, The Freelance Hellraiser, Kid Gloves) and George Hoyle (Cage & Aviary, Cunning Folk, Gay Dad). While one is deep in pop writing and production, the other resides in folk and electronica. This year they had an itch to reprise their 2010s electronic slow-mo techno funk that had them appearing in compilations from DJ royalty such as Andrew Weatherall, Erol Alkan and Luke Solomon. Inspired as much by the strange library music of the 70s and 80s or 90s rave classics as they are by the instrumental grooves of Tycho, Four Tet and Ratatat, they are at times spacey, heavy and uplifting.
