HILD sets off as a war and battle themed project centered around the Valkyries of Nordic mythology. Each song honoring a specific Valkyrie, channeling their respective traits on the battlefield. Fierce forces to imbue our beings, timeless traits for each of our struggles. The outlet is raw, straight-forward energy that takes no prisoners, wastes no time. Labelling itself "Violent Swedish Metal" HILD is a Thrash Metal based outfit, infused with currents of Black and Death Metal aswell as old school Swedish Crust and Hardcore. It installs in you the feeling of violent rapture and ecstatic rush that only real, good Thrash-related music can conjure; that primal, animal connection when you feel absolutely awesome, yet want to destroy everything around you in total abandon. Like a berserker or ulvhedin, knowing you could die any second and not give a damn about it. HILD is solely the creation of Lars Broddesson (ex-Marduk, Funeral Mist session + much more) under the banner of ValFreiya. It came to life through a divine spark and assignment in the woods around Hultsfred, Sweden, one night in early autumn 2021. Here, he works under the motto that no song be longer than 2:30 and require no more than 9 hours from first idea to finished product. All to keep the initial surge of power intact and unaltered.
