GERARDO OCHOA Singer-songwriter musician and architect, born on May 13th in 1968 in the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. He makes his debut in 1989 at the Primer Gran Festival en Guadalajara. He has had countless presentations singing songs of his own composition as well as sharing the stage with prominent Latin American composers in various forums, national and international festivals. Gerardo Ochoa has recorded 10 albums, 2 of them as a guest singer. In 1995, he was awarded with the first place at the Nacional Song Festival Guadalupe Trigo, Mi Ciudad in Mexico City with the song También soy América. After a period of absence, Gerardo Ochoa went back to the stage in 2011 representing the state of Jalisco at the National Festival of Composers Mexico, Canción de mi Corazón, held in Mexico City where he competed with his song Mi País winning the 4th place. Years later in 2016, he participated in the International Festival of Songwriters Un canto por la paz, in honor to the well-known artist Facundo Cabral, which took place in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This time he won the first place by interpreting his song Canción Viva, which presented again the following year as a guest singer during the same festival in Sao Luiz do Paraitinga, Brasil, Gerardo Ochoa founded the Songwriters Collective Canción Viva in Guadalajara. Currently, he is a co-founder of the Latin American Cooperative Circle associated to the United Religions Initiative (URI)
