Zhao is the proof of concept and pop avatar of multi-instrumentalist, producer, and singer Kenny Zhao. Raised in the Atlanta suburbs by Chinese immigrants, Kenny studied classical piano and composition before moving to Los Angeles. His work is a reconciliation of dualities - machine and human, world and self, East and West. In the years since, Zhao has collaborated with a string of producers including Nicky Night Time, Armand Van Helden, and Black Coffee. As a performer, Zhao has been welcome to such venues as The Moroccan Lounge, The Satellite, and LA Chinatown's Summer Nights series. He has been heard on KCRW and Dublab, with tracks charting among the top 10 on Hype Machine.
