Haniel Cruz, known as Hanislip, is a Brazilian-American singer, rapper, songwriter, record producer, and visual artist. Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Hanislip's passion for music was ignited when his uncle introduced him to rock bands like Korn and Mudvayne. Despite facing various challenges and experiencing parental separation, Hanislip persevered. In 2010, his mother brought him to the United States, and in 2014, he made the bold decision to pursue a music career, leaving his mother's home to live with a friend. In 2017, Hanislip reached a significant milestone by obtaining his American citizenship. In 2021, Hanislip delved into the distinctive subgenre of metal known as Killpop, releasing his first full-length album, "Corpo-Seco." The year 2022 witnessed his experimentation with various genres, leading to the release of the "Contained Rage" mixtape, featuring Portuguese lyrics.
