Arising from bedroom covers of The Cribs and the Buzzcocks when the band were teens, Soup! became regulars on the Manchester scene in 2021. Combining an enduring love of the pop and post-punk sensibilities of XTC, Josef K and Magazine, Soup! carved their own brand of art-punk littered with angular guitars, urgent bass lines and wry vocal imagery. Matthew Beswick (Vocals/Guitar), Connor Riley (Guitar) and Ben Smith (Drums) who played together as teens were joined by Hayden Gouveia (Bass), and Rob Jones (Keys/Percussion) in 2021. During 2022, Soup! appeared at UK festivals Live at Leeds, Neighbourhood Festival, BlueDot Festival and Manchester Pyschfest. Topping the year off with a trip to Rotterdam for tastemaker festival Left of the Dial, the band performed alongside some of the most exciting new European talent in post-punk and alternative music. “Every tune sounds like hit.
