Биография
Solgyres references multiple muses in instrumental and harmony development, taking inspiration from genres like roots reggae, ska, rocksteady, dub, Latin, and jazz. Additional inspiration, such as the punk genre, can be observed in the ethos of their lyricism and live performance. Due to their array of influences in all phases of the creative process, Solgyres has created a musical style unfindable elsewhere, setting them apart from proclaimed reggae and punk-rock. Siblings Skyelyn and Scott Bernier grew up creating and playing music. They were allotted the time to record and actualize their passion projects during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. Without a studio or producer, the two taught themselves Logic Pro to present five demos in their first EP, Sol Gyres, by December 2020. They released their second demo EP, Night, in April 2021. As Solgyres grew, Skyelyn and Scott met various musicians that naturally fit into the band. Solgyres now consists of Zach Neuneker on drums, Scott Bernier on bass guitar and vocals, Skyelyn Bernier on keys, melodica, and vocals, Logan Tichnor on lead guitar, Lucia Magnuson on vocals, Jake Russell on rhythm guitar and vocals, Sol Ramirez on percussion and vocals. Solgyres is set to release a studio album in 2023. ~excerpt from Neha Jammula's Artist Spotlight article in Her Campus UConn magazine
