Once upon a time, there was a world so far away Where the people never listened to what others had to say Tucked inside this world, there was a girl who liked to play But never could, 'Cause nobody understood Where she got the inspiration to have imagination In a world where it all left them years ago But still, she keeps her patience, despite everything she's facing 'Cause she knows she's not alone Once there was a boy in the same world with no joy Yet the boy, he just kept holding onto hope The hope someday he'd find a way to leave this world behind But he doesn't want to leave it on his own He just wishes he could see a brand new world where folks believed But his world left that behind so long ago But still, he likes to dream of things that others just can't see 'Cause he doesn't know he's not alone ♪ Once upon a dream that was as real as one could be The little boy was sitting right on top a hill And the girl walked to this tree where she thought something would be But it was empty and she thought this world was real Yet the girl just kept on walking, hoping someone'd hear her talking Then she heard a voice call out that made her stop It was coming from the hill, so she ran and ran and ran until She finally reached the boy right at the top (Aww, hey!) They talked about so many things that no one else could ever see Cause nobody was thinking as they should Everybody thought they spoke of lies They've been ignored for all their lived But now they've found someone who understood They took each other by the hand and looked out at their newfoundland And promised that they'd never ever leave But they both drifted back asleep The memory of it buried deep But deep deep down I know they still believe 'Cause they both woke up back in their world He's just a boy, she's just a girl Who were the only ones who seemed to see That something out there does exist A world they oh so deeply missed Where everything was just bursting with glee But nobody believes their eyes And once again, they're full of lies And everybody thinks they're on their own But every night, the boy and girl They sleep and wake up in their world And they know they're not alone
