So "Divinity" That was-, that's the first song on the album And I think it's the first song that I wrote That was really in the world's style And by that I mean like 90-ish VPM Um, at that sort of-, that sort of chord atmosphere and sensibility And the structure really begins with a hook, um To me, that's where the whole style sort of came out of Um, uh, Amy Millan of course she She did this like wonderful chord, this vocal Um, she's from the band Stars Reachers, one of my real like high school Um, high school records that I got really, really sentimental about Um, you know their song Asia's Beauty Um, and yeah that-, that That band is-, is-, is so good Uh, and I think like I-, I know, I remember writing "Divinity" And it was one of- It was one of the first songs that I wrote of the album And to me, you know I've written that intro Um with that, that little yeah-ah-aah that sound And I-, I just felt that it was so hooky I-, I think that actually I hadn't written it as an intro initially But I knew I need it to be removed to the front of the production And then everything just really flowed out of it from there And then I'm like resolved as I'm this-, this feels very me to me And I-, I felt like I kind of stumbled upon the sound of worlds And that's why I felt it was really critical But have it as the first song of the album
