Once upon a wave I fought the ocean, brave Hoping to delay My journey to the grave The undulating beast Licked the life out of my cheeks Left me breathless and afraid Of the rocks My unconsciousness was broken by a sigh And my eyes were filled with patterns from the sky Two giant moon-sized eyes bubbled up from the deep With a whirlpool for a mouth, I was sucked right underneath Once upon a wave I lit my corncob pipe And over waters, calm Stars were flying through the night And everything seemed good Everything seemed right 'Till we sailed on and on Like we were heading for the light
