As we begin now This compendium of tales To ponder on plunder Of riches and ales Think deep on the riddles Set forth on these pages Within lies the path To the treasure of ages This cannot be true you drunken fool The first mate chuckled Falling from his stool The helmsman sat silent A drum in his grip Wondering how We would finance this trip I know of a man the wisest is he He'll craft us a vessel For a gallon or fifty This plan is too vast We'll reconvene later Said the quartermaster adrift in his paper This speaks of a dragon On an isle long forgotten Never mind that worm I'll chop off his bottom Be not so hasty gunner my dear The plan will go justly All lend me your ears We'll pillage the town Taking all of their stores To pay for the ship The sails and the oars Then off on adventure We plot course with gladness With drinking games To stem the madness Debating for hours Which drink is the best We'll hit the deck Then push forth on our quest To plunder the isle where the dragon now reigns Then back to the tavern to spend all our gains
