Primo the Alien is an Austin-based electro, indie pop artist/producer. A graduate of the esteemed Clive Davis Institute at New York University, Primo the Alien makes contemporary electro-pop laced with 80s-inspired nostalgia. A multi-instrumentalist and producer, Primo’s style defies the bounds of traditional genres, serving modern tracks drenched in otherworldly futurism with a retro edge. Using a sharp wit and humor, Primo charms and disarms listeners just before letting loose her signature, powerhouse vocals. Singing with urgency, from the gut, Primo hits notes so high, you’ll wonder if she’s hiding a soprano sax in her throat. Her fearlessness, unrelenting intensity, and eccentric bravado are balanced with levity, effervescence, and imagination, delivering a musical punch that is as undeniable as it is needed. In a sea of strobe-light pretenders, Primo the Alien is a disco ball ablaze. Primo made her ACL Festival debut in October to glowing reviews and was recently interviewed by Rolling Stone. Primo was awarded a scholarship for excellence in songwriting by the Songwriter's Hall of Fame and was nominated for Best Pop Artist by the Austin Chronicle alongside Dayglow and Molly Burch. Primo became the face of Universal Audio's new audio interface, the Volt, and is currently featured in their international marketing campaign. Her upcoming EP, "We All Hate Ourselves Sometimes," will be out this summer.
