It's around 5am
First one up again
Eyes open and it begins
Footsteps from the other room
I know they'll be here soon
Open the door for me and you
Lights on and they rattle my cage
Ready to go but you wana stay
Always sleeping in too late
Big yawn and a stretch to wake
Run around give my ears a shake
Ready to start off the day
I just want to be outside
Hop the fence to run and hide
The wind that pops and hits my face
Not gonna make me stop my chase
And I hear them calling my name
But somethings calling me the other way
But I can't loose my home today
I'm coming right back to you
Back in through the sliding door
Leaving tracks all on the floor
Sitting for our sweet reward
What a waste of a sunny day
So why can't you stay
Walking out like yesterday
Howling in our little pack
Waiting for you to come back
I fell asleep just like that
Afternoons are made for naps

A little rub and belly scratch
