People often ask me
Why it is that I believe
In a God that I cannot see
I'm not seeking in treasure

Success in our society
But many years ago
I surrendered to the lord
Yes I gave him every part of me
Now my heart can rejoice
As I lift up my voice
To the one in whom I believe
I'm not following him for a drink from the well
Cause he's an overflowing fountain to me
I'm not following him for the viscous and the loves
For the bread of life meets my needs
I'm not following him for the miracles I've seen
Though he's done some mighty awesome things
I believe he is who he says he is
And I follow him because I believe
Jesus gave his life for me
Eternal life I did receive
The word of God proves is to be
People followed him for healing
Or thought he was appealing
Or some just had the faith to believe
Like the woman at the well
Paul and Sylus in the jail
And the others who believed just like me
Now my greatest reward
Is to walk with my lord
