I saw a box of styrofoam cups
Split open on the freeway
Dropped and demolished by trucks
Brake lights blossomed but no one stopped
The floating white shards looked like seagulls
Dipping and diving on an open artery
And I crushed them with my car
Into tinier and tinier bits that floated away into the sun
(That would one day make it to my bloodstream)
