Back in the 90's when I was a kid
Hide and seek down the street is what we did
We didn't think anything of it
That was just the life we lived
I was seven years old
On the playground that changed my world

And I didn't realize yet why it would matter
Out on the playground we were royalty
When really it was just her and me

It never bothered me much

And things just weren't quite the same
You see I was moving far away
And I'd never see her again
Twenty years have come and gone
Since then I've loved and lost
