Born and raised in Rockford, Illinois, Meaty Ogre started making beats at 16. Being a professional record dealer for over 10 years, he surrounded himself with rare records from all over the planet , which exposed him to a wild array of sample material to pull from for his beats. Producing for Galapagos4 rap crew based in Chicago for 10+ years, he eventually moved to New York City, where he continues to produce and release records while running Potions Music, a vinyl and cassette based label releasing disco, funk, rap, jazz, rock and everything in between.
