Fret not thyself at evil men Nor envy those who worketh wrong For they will soon fade like the grass And wither like the new-cut herb But worketh good and trust the LORD And make your dwelling in the land Make faithfulness a trusty friend And verily, you will be fed Delight thyself in God; he'll give All thy desires of heart to thee Unto the LORD, commit your way And he will act without delay Then like unto the light, he shall Thy righteousness, put on display And forth, he will, your justice, show As bright as noon-tide of the day Be still before, the LORD and wait Forbear with patience, fret thou not Fret not thyself at evil men Who seem to prosper in their sin Cease, then, from wrath and fret thou not It worketh only e'er to ill The LORD cuts off the evil man But to his saints, the earth shall give For lo! The time is short for them The wicked ones will be no more Though carefully, you search them out You'll find them not, they'll vanish, all But look and see! The meek shall dwell In fullness of the land, and will In peace, abundant, peace full well Delight themselves forevermore
