I awake from a chiral nightmare This dispossession of identity consuming me Drowned by the question of who I am Lost in disparity between who I see and who I chose to be Wide awake but still drowning in chiral dreams Open my eyes in time to realise The fractured glass upon which my self resides Distorted by design Reflected outwards so none see inside This fractured mask upon which I am defined Is it even mine Swimming to the surface my emergence is a vergence As a coalescence of subconsciousness and my awareness Brings a current sweeping me away unto the shores of surety Yet riddled with uncertainty I gaze back to the blackened sea Out from the void my eyes stare back at me But hollowed out, gouged by reality's chirality A shallow manifestation of anything I've ever been Let the tide break on me to break down my naivety Stare into the surface of the ocean in the depths of the night Reflected is the shimmering lights of the stars A sight to behold Drown in your vision of the misguided truth that you think you see But you mistake the reflection for the heavens themselves Open my eyes in time to realise The fractured glass upon which my self resides Distorted by design Drowned by the question of who I am This fractured mask upon which I am defined Is all a lie The stars on the sea Are all that we see In the end Is deceit All we see Is the sea It is all deceit All that we see Is deceit Breaking the surface, within my emergence A final convergence of my understanding, as I open my eyes in time to realise the truth's in the sky Watch the reflection - an image in flexion, a fatal distortion of all we perceive A visage mistaken, the truth is forsaken; awareness awakened: reality's chirality
